We often eat hot dogs so it's nice to try a new variety. It's a simple but satisfying meal and we'd like to add to our repertoire which currently only includes plain hot dogs with onions and chilli dogs.
Ingredients:
1 package hot dogs
1 can sweetcorn
1 jar salsa
1 pack hot dog buns
3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
I was disappointed I couldn't get a better quality of hot dog. We usually have some really big meaty ones that come in a jar but both stores we use were low on hot dog stocks. So we have to make do with what we've got.
Heat up both the hot dogs and the sweetcorn. When the sweetcorn is ready, drain it and add some mixed herbs, salt & pepper.
Mix the mayo and ketchup together to make a sauce called salsa golf. Confusing name but ok!
Then all that's left to do is to compile your hot dog with the toppings.
I went a bit heavy with the sauce but it was really nice. I liked the texture of the sweetcorn on there and the moistness from the sauce and the salsa. It stopped the bread from being too dry which can sometimes happen with a thinner hot dog like these. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed these dogs!
