Nepal - Dhal Bhat

Translated this is basically lentils and rice, which is a staple food of Nepal.


* 10 tbls lentils
* chopped tomatoes
* oil
* 1 medium onion
* chili flakes
* coriander
* garlic salt
* garam masala
* rice

Put the lentils in a pan and cook with 5 cups of water.

When they are soft add the garam masala, garlic salt and chili flakes. Stir well.

In another pan, cook the onion and tomato in the oil and add it to the lentils.

Boil the rice and put a layer of it in a bowl.

Spoon over the lentils and add some coriander leaves

This was simple to make and really flavourful. I like lentils but I don't know many ways to cook them so I'll definitely be making this again and experimenting with different lentils. Very nice!
